The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren is an aid to gain enlightenment to the age old question of “WHAT ON EARTH AM I HERE FOR?” The ultimate goal of reading this book is to know God's purpose for your life and to understand the big picture-how all the pieces of your life fit together. Having this perspective is designed to reduce your stress, simplify your decisions, increase your satisfaction, and, most important, prepare you for eternity.
This chapter opened with the line, "God wants all of you." I am feeling a bit morose today because I was faced with a disappointment. A precious hope was taken away from me. And then I read this chapter on worship. I define it as how I honor God with my life, doing "all things as unto God." Today it occurred to me that even my disappointment - to give that to him, to curl up in his arms and let him comfort me - even that was an occasion for worship and praise. Just as we, as parents, feel good when we can offer comfort to our own children, He loves when we come to him for comfort and solace. I picture myself being in His arms, with Him cuddling me. God gives the best hugs!
