The Heart of Worship is Surrender. God’s is saying “I got this.” Because of the “Free Will” thing, surrender goes against the grain. We can’t lose the battle. We are made in His image and like Him, we want to be in the driver's seat. It boils down to trust. Do we trust God to get us to the desired destination? Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.
Wow - this chapter really ministered to me today! So many good things! My friend says we always try to "fix, manage and control" our lives. Oh YES! I am so guilty of this. But surrender is the "only way" - I am convinced of this now. So many things I struggle with - they have become hard for me, I wrestle with them constantly. I realize now - it's because I still want to be in control. There is my security and safety - in what I do. Giving up seemed weak so it was not an option. But today I learned that surrender strengthens me. I guess because I'm not relying on my own power any longer but trusting in God. I surrender all ...
